Rejoice in the Lord always; again I say, rejoice.Indeed, the Lord is near. (Phil 4: 4-5)
Today’s service offered a reminder that even in this weird year there is reason to rejoice in the coming of Our Lord, and that one of the blessings in 2020 has been an increased awareness of the small joys – as the big joys were mostly absent.
‘Silent Night’ in 2020 will be mostly silent indeed – we worship without congregational singing (apart from one hymn outside the church) and most of us will spend the festive period with far fewer people than we might be used to. The small things matter, and this is the year to become more aware of this.
Join us in the Silent Night and on the Day:
Christmas Eve (Thursday 24th December): Vigil Mass 5pm (short and suitable for families)
Christmas Day (Friday 25th December): Parish Mass 10.30am
